Iván Vidal-Romero

Hi! I'm Iván Vidal-Romero, a 24-year-old Industrial Engineering student and M.Sc. candidate in Operations Management at the University of Chile. I expect to complete both degrees in late 2026 or early 2027.

I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Denis Sauré. My M.Sc. thesis studies how sellers learn customer preferences while deciding which products to offer, focusing on Thompson sampling under multinomial logit demand in both single-seller and competitive markets.

My interests lie broadly in operations research and decision-making under uncertainty. In my research and applied projects, I have used optimization, online learning, Bayesian methods, and simulation to address problems in choice modeling, network interdiction, operational reliability, and health-policy evaluation.

I have also served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses. In 2024, I received the Best Teaching Assistant Award from the Department of Industrial Engineering. Outside of work, I enjoy running, reading, and drawing.
